Glazing Trade Supplies

Normally, around this time of year, it is quite easy to get caught up in a little festive reform frenzy.  The countdown would be on to get that job indoors finished so that everything is ready for the 25th December when the man in red comes down the chimney and the family are invited round to enjoy a cheeky sherry or three.  Of course, 2020 is not like any other year and it is impossible to compare …. The book of ‘normality’ was thrown out the window months ago during the first lock down.

That said, it is hard to ignore the TV programmes (of which there are many) showing us how to reform our house….  what needs to be done to add value … as if we were ever in doubt.

Despite fashions and fads in property design, there is certainly something to be said for keeping your property up to date and in good order, for a number of reasons.

  1. A well-maintained house will cost less to run over the course of the year.  Ill-fitting windows and doors that allow the wind to blow in, is also allowing all that warm air to escape.
  2. An Englishman’s Home is his Castle …. That is certainly true so make your castle the best it can be.
  3. When the day comes to sell your castle, a property that is kept in good condition will always sell first.   Who hasn’t gone to view a house, full of anticipation with estate agents details in hand, only to drive straight past … it wasn’t as described and the nightmare can be seen from the road.
  4. Sometimes investing a few thousand or even a few hundred pounds, on new windows, doors or adding bi folding doors to open up a family room onto the garden can double or even treble the investment in terms of adding value to the property.

It is more than adding a little curb appeal.

As we look ahead to 2021 … and who isn’t counting down the days to be rid of 2020 ….. maybe the time is right to put a little love back into your property and invest a little money to get those jobs done that you have been trying to forget.

It would be silly to wait until you come to sell your house in order to replace the windows and doors.  Why not update your house now and get full benefit and enjoyment; with some careful consideration and sound advice it is easy to put a little sparkle back and fall in love with your house again.

Is space a problem for your family?  If there isn’t room to extend, why not consider a well-placed conservatory or sun room extension to add that little extra room that you have always needed. Alternatively why not transform your current unusable conservatory with a tiled warm roof making your space usable all year round.

The key to all of this is to find a company that you can work with and people you can trust.  You need someone who will listen to your needs, offer professional advice and give you what you want and not what they want to sell you.

The team at GTS are here, ready and waiting to help you with any reform queries and give you the benefit of years of experience.  Our reputation has been built on a foundation of honesty and the sterling service we give our clients.   A great job for a fair price!
